![]() As the story builds to its stunning conclusion, Eddie desperately seeks redemption in the still-unknown last act of his life: Was it a heroic success or a devastating failure? The answer, which comes from the most unlikely of sources, is as inspirational as a glimpse of heaven itself. One by one, Eddie's five people illuminate the unseen connections of his earthly life. Yet each of them changed your path forever. These people may have been loved ones or distant strangers. ![]() He awakens in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a lush Garden of Eden, but a place where your earthly life is explained to you by five people. I don’t have time to reread favourite books anymore, now that there are so many to choose from. Who better than Abby Craden to voice Magdalene Fucking Nox? For the nerd that I can’t help being, the fact that it was released on 2.22.22 simply added to the perfection that I knew this would be. When the author announced that Abby Craden would be narrating, the impatience went through the roof. That exhilarating feeling I felt last summer when I first read The Headmistress? It came back tenfold with the audiobook. And do I need to mention Abby?” This is what I wrote on social media midway through listening and honestly, I could leave it at that. In the beginning, we see Chelsea’s heart broken into little pieces. Up to the very last page of Neighbor Dearest, I didn’t like knowing that he was happy with his decisions. Now, I’m not the biggest fan of step anything story’s, but this guy (even though I’m content that Chelsea found her HEA with someone else) still makes me a little stabby. I cottoned on half-way through the story that the douchewaffle ex, had his own love story. That sounds bad, but I know the type of reader I am and there’s a bloody good chance I may not have even looked at this one if I had read that one first. I have to say, I’m absolutely stoked that I never read Stepbrother Dearest. There are lots of things buzzing around in my brain after finishing and I’m struggling to get it all clear in my head. The Hidden Masterpiece, also known as The Unknown Masterpiece, could be considered a long short story or a short novella.
